Marie-Anne de Gier

I am Marie Anne de Gier, a consultant and researcher at TNO Vector. With a background in Applied Physics, Industrial Ecology, and Innovation Management, I work at the intersection of digitalization and sustainability. I combine a strong technical and analytical background with expertise in sustainability and systems thinking. My interest lies in how organizations can accelerate and shape technological and societal transitions.
I explore how digitalization can contribute to sustainability while also critically examining the environmental impact of digital technologies themselves.
I am energized by complex challenges where technology, people, and organizations converge, and where diverse interests and perspectives come into play. In this work, I seek solutions that are not only sustainable but also practically feasible and economically attractive for organizations. I believe that the greatest impact is achieved when sustainable choices become logical and feasible. That is why I am committed to developing knowledge and practical approaches that help organizations use technology responsibly and thus contribute to a future-proof society.
